So for those of you who knew the John fiasco, he came over last night so I guess I win?
And my family thinks I'm a slut-whore now.
Except my dad because I think he's unaware John was here since my dad goes to bed at like, 7.
But Whatevs.
I'm trying to save some money for a trip to Disney World in 2010! I'll be 21 that year so I can fully appreciate everything that Downtown Disney has to offer. It's become a little tradition to go to Disney World every 7 years. I went when I was 7 and 14, so I gotta stick with the pattern! The only family member welcome is my mom. Not my dad or brother or the Beast because they're all really boring and I definitely don't need Nicole fucking up my good time. I'm so glad I get to organize this :) haha

Ok most of my lady friends who actually read this shit have boyfriends so you don't need to be a Dinner Whore. Either your boyfriend buys you dinner sometimes or you just live off your love. And the land.
Us single gals don't have it that easy. I can deal with being chilly at night, I have the awesome single girl armor of flannel. But underfed? Um... have you seen me? I have the ghetto booty. Gotta maintain it, son.
Being a Dinner Whore (DW) is really not as easy as it sounds. You can get a bad reputation for being a DW just as easily as you can for being a regular whore, which is probably a lot worse. A guy is not going to spring for a meal to give you energy if he already knows in advance that you won't be using that energy on him. Plus, as a poor college girl, I'm sure my peers are just as poor as I. We are, after all, at SUNY Poor-choice.
So how does one become a DW? Well, you gotta be picky. It's just plain mean to flirt hardcore with a guy to get into his wallet if you already know he can barely afford a happy meal. And while you want to avoid Pushy McSex-Fiend, (the guy who only talks about how badly he wants you all night) he is the most amazing one to be a DW with. He's what I'd call a one-night-stand. The look on his face when you give him the stale kiss on the cheek goodnight is priceless, but don't think he'll take you out again. Best not to try and then eventually when he passes you he'll stop looking at you with that bitter glare and pretend you don't exist. Don't wave.
You also want to avoid meeting someone who is too interested and eager to take you out. While he seems like he truly enjoys taking you out and loving your company, you really shouldn't egg him on. He's spending his cash and only getting that peck on the lips (or cheek if you're that "cheap") and thinking you're playing hard to get... you can't let that go on for too long. It's just not nice. Unless you actually like him too, in which case I think you should offer to split the bill and invite him upstairs to "watch a movie" but this would not be Dinner Whoring anymore, it would be actually dating.
So who are you actually looking for? Someone who seems safe enough, but not your type. When I say "safe" I don't mean "too nice". Those guys are desperate and will call you all the time. Even if they don't like you. They'll call because they feel bad for not calling. By safe I mean someone who won't rape you.
But yeah you want someone who isn't quite your type (not not a complete opposite) because then on the first night you don't invite them up for that movie, they'll think you're a "nice girl" and maybe the scene was just off that night. Basically, you'll be able to squeeze another meal or two out of them until it is plain to see that the chemistry is just not there and you can both move on.
And don't DW with a friend of a guy you've DW'd in the past :)

I just saw Cloverfield... it was fucking amazing. It's the only movie to have made me literally scream. And it wasn't too too bad on the gore factor.
The RAs all moved back in so I'm not alone on the floor anymore! Yay!
Swim team is ok. My parents are trying to get me to cut a practice tomorrow. I might pull the "family emergency" card because I didn't give any advance warning. I want to miss practice and see my family but I don't want to get in trouble. My parents are the ones telling me it's ok.
I haven't heard from the Ruski in a while. Hm.
But yeah. See Cloverfield.

Ok so I know we're all flippin out over finals...
-Journalism: Not worried about that one so much.
-CSW: So many essays... I'm going to practice writing them over the week and reread shit. But still so much crap!
-College writing: I fucked up on a project so instead of writing a 7 page paper, I have to write an 11 page paper. I can barely squeeze out the 7 pages.
-I got written up last night because there was too much noise in my dorm and people were drinking and a candle was burning. My roommate is in bigger trouble than I am for lying and for the candle and because this is her second time being written up but I'm afraid. On the other hand, next year I'm going to massage therapy school so this year pretty much doesn't matter anyway.
But still... I keep telling my parents all the good stuff that's happening, like birthday parties and the swim team and classes that I'm not sucking at...
Last night my friend Greg and I were really bummed out about getting written up (everyone else went to a party) so he and I just sat around in his room half drunk and talked. At first just about how bummed we were and what to say to minimize the trouble we'll get into, then about happy stuff to cheer us up, then it got to super heavy topics and I'm embarrassed to say that I kind of spilled my guts about certain things (not lots of things but some things) but it's been hard keeping everything to myself and he was really great to talk to and I was tipsy... so whatever. He's an awesome friend.
Going to a party tonight for my friend's birthday! That'll be fun.
Cheer up kids, one week left of work and then we can all smile.

My day started out shitily.
I missed a really important class and I basically just woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
Then I had my championship swim meet and I was scared shitless. My first event was a 100 free against girls from 5 other schools with close times to my best. I came in first.
Then I swam a 50 and came in second.
I was pretty happy....
But we won the entire thing. We've been undefeated all season and we won in two conferences. I've never been in a winning team before that gets trophies and stuff. And it feels good to know I contributed. It's crazy!
Now I'm back to my old drippy self :/

We're getting a Starbucks at Purchase!!! Yay! This makes me very happy... good coffee. Not this Pura Vida shit. I'm having a "caramelado" right now. Kinda blows a lot. I paid for a small and she gave me like a medium/large cup. It's more of a punishment than a bonus.
I have so much work to do and so little time/motivation. My schedule for today is pretty booked... class (check), work, group project, mandatory freshman seminar thing about rape, homework/Pete? Pete might not show though. He usually doesn't and today he's feeling kinda icky.
My back hurts and I don't know why.
Purchase Panthers swim team = still undefeated. We played the weakest team ever yesterday. They only had 5 girls. Four of them were really really good actually, they beat some of our really good swimmers. But the fact that they only had 5 girls killed them... most races we only went against ourselves.
I came in first in a 50 freestyle event which was cool cause 3 of their 5 girls competed. Go me!

I realized I ran out so I never finished my last post with promised good news.
I guess it's incomplete good news, but I work with this guy named Arley at the pool and he's really hot but he's 23. I know that's not really bad since I'm almost 19 and I've had older, but the older guy acted a lot less mature. Arley acts his age.
Anyways, so I've always been into him, but intimidated. It got to the point of utter shyness. Yeah I know, not typical Niki.
So last Friday night (I can't believe it's been a week) I was at my friend Emily's birthday party and I was literally walking out the door when Arley showed up... so I stayed. We ended up being all over each other hugging... and he needed a place to crash so he had the choice between my room on an air mattress and Meg's couch... he chose my mattress. We left arm in arm and everyone was certain we'd hook up. We did not.
The good thing now is that I am in his radar. I've been less hesitant to make stupid jokes and he's actually laughed at them instead of being like "you're retarded."
But now I am in the predicament because I have little self confidence these days. Pete kinda tore me up a little. I dunno. He can kiss my ass. |

Hey everyone, what's good?
Sooooo I don't really have much to say, but no one else has really posted recently so... I will.
Yesterday I got up nice and early for work! Teaching the kiddies to swim 9:00-12:00! Three lessons of the little buggers! Yay! But my buddies at the pool are in the same boat and I met another Phil. I know four Phils.
1) Phil- The first Phil I met on the first day I got here.
2) Philly- Baseball player. Looks kind of like Mike Scarm and just as sweet.
3) Kyle- His name is actually Phil but someone called him Kyle once for an unknown reason, so he's Kyle
4) Phil Swiminstructorguy- He's a swimming instructor guy.
Then I took a really long nap and had dinner and sat around. Eventually I got bored and went to the student center and made some friends. We ended up singing the 9th chapter of Trapped in the Closet and, funnily enough, the ENTIRE Trapped in the Closet Saga was going to be on TV at 1:00 AM so we decided to catch that. I watched the first 14 chapters (it used to end at 13 but they added 11 more I think) and then I went to bed because...
Today is my family's annual brunch! Which I need to leave to go to now because my grandpa is pickin me up in a few.

Soooo Niki needs a new alarm clock. I've been late to my classes all week. Today I had hip hop at 8:30. If my aunt hadn't called my cell phone (AT 9:04!) I never would have gone and that would have been strike one and that would suck a lot. Luckily it was just hip hop and not like, college writing.
Ummm I feel like I have big awesome stories or something... I feel like I've had a lot of laughs this week. But nothing is really coming to mind. Right now I just wish it were Friday because I hate my Friday classes and I'd love to just have them done.
I should clean my room because it's kind of retarded looking. So I'm gonna do that.

1) Big scary spiders all over my house while I'm babysitting. Couldn't focus on the three rugrats with all those damn spiders. Got sick and couldn't lie down because they were EVERYWHERE.
2) Sunjiah or whatever his name is from American Idol came to my graduation party and I wasn't thrilled about that.
3) My cousin from Oklahoma came to visit and we went to Disney world and got majorly ripped off on some ride so I had to argue with the employee and ended up getting $50. Good for me.
